Chris has been at IPFW since 1991. She is currently the Associate Director of the Mastodon Academic Performance (M.A.P.) Center, and the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator. Since 1992, she has also been an associate faculty member of the Human Service Department at IPFW. She has taught courses in Theories of Substance Abuse Prevention, Wellness, Freshman Success and Freshman Topics for Student-Athletes. She started her work with athletes as an academic advisor in 1988, beginning her career with college athletics at Northwestern University and continuing it at IPFW.

Chris has a variety of job responsibilities, she helps to develop, implement and evaluate the academic programs for student-athletes. She also acts as the advisor to SALT (Student-Athlete Leadership Team). SALT works to serve the community, promote academic accomplishments of athletes, and to make the experience of their fellow student-athletes fun and meaningful.

Professional development has always been an important aspect of Chris's work life, and she has demonstrated this by staying active in presenting papers in the fields of Advising and Prevention, and through publishing articles on peer tutoring. Her work life and home life are inextricably linked since her husband of over 20 years; Lawrence A. Kuznar, a Professor of Anthropology, also works at IPFW. Since 1983, Chris has worked with her husband in Peru, on the Navajo Reservation, and most recently on a paper they presented together looking at cross-cultural initiation rites and their relationship to college hazing.

Chris has two children. Shannon (14) her daughter is an avid reader and horseback rider, and her son Eric (12) is a history and sports enthusiast. Chris horseback rides as much as she can with her daughter, and cheers on her son as he plays football, baseball, and wrestles.
