Toledo Results | Youngstown State Results


Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW men's tennis team split matches this weekend on the road in Ohio. On Saturday the Mastodons fell to Toledo, 7-0, but rebounded with a 5-2 win at Youngstown State.

At Toledo, the Rockets put on a dominating performance, not dropping a set to IPFW in their, 7-0 win. 

The Mastodons regrouped and improved to 8-7 on the season with a, 5-2 win over Youngstown State.

The 'Dons started off slowly, losing the doubles point to YSU, but rallied with five singles wins, including a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win by Carlos Gonzalez at No. 1.

Hermann Kuschke gutted out his first set tie breaker with the Penguins' Diego Cerzosimo 7-6 (10), before rolling 6-2 in the second set at No. 3 singles.

At numbers four, five, and six singles, the Mastodons dominated.  Nathan Jones, Francisco Siguad, and Arturo Salgado all won 6-0 in their opening set and cruised in their second set.

IPFW will return to action this weekend with matches at Butler and Indiana State.
