Results

Valparaiso, IN - The IPFW men's tennis team fell in their final match of the 2007-08 season by a 4-3 score to the Crusaders of Valparaiso University on Monday afternoon.

The Mastodons started the match strong, winning the doubles point behind a 9-8 (7-3) win at No. 2 pairs by Hermann Kuschke and Francisco Siguad; and an 8-4 win at No. 3 by Justin Collins and Nathan Jones.

Valparaiso took a one-point lead after Crusader wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles. IPFW knotted the match at two points apiece after Kuschke picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles. The Crusaders and Mastodons then traded wins, Valparaiso's coming at No. 1 and IPFW's at No. 4 via a 6-4, 6-3 score. The hosts ended the contest with a three-set win at No. 5, giving the Crusaders the 4-3 victory.

The loss ends the season for IPFW with an 11-16 record.
