2007 Season McNerney established himself as a serving specialist during the 2007 season. His "float-serve" proved to be incredibly accurate, with only one service error on the year. McNerney registered a career-high three kills at the University of Puerto Rico on 3/10. His biggest kill, and the most important kill of the season for the Mastodons, came in Game 4 of the NCAA Semi-Final. McNerney dug up a blast from the Waves Paul Carroll. His dig floated to the far end of the Waves court and fell to the floor for a kill, giving the `Dons a huge momentum swing and cushion they would not relinquish. Registered digs on five occasions in 2007. McNerney also had a service ace vs. Pepperdine in the NCAA Semi-Finals. 2006 Season Dan McNerney saw action in seven matches for the Mastodons in 2006. Averaged .025 kills and 0.12 digs a game. Had kills in matches vs. Clarke on 3/25 and at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez on 3/10. Registered a block in that same match. Was perfect on service return chances. Hit .333 on the season. 2005 Season McNerney saw limited action for the Blue and White in 2005. He appeared in eight matches at setter for the `Dons. He had two kills, 15 assists, two digs, and two total blocks. His best passing match came against Nationally ranked Penn State. McNerney had nine assists vs. the Nittany Lions on 1/22. He also had two digs and a block assist in that match. High School McNerney was named State MVP his junior and senior years at Salesianum. He was also named the best hitter, setter and server. Volleyball Magazine named him a "Fab 50" in 2004. |
