Columbus, OH - For the third time in his career at IPFW, and fourth overall, senior outside hitter C.J. Macias has been named to the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association All-Conference Team. Senior opposite Jason Yhost also grabs All-MIVA honors in voting conducted by conference coaches.

Macias was tied for fifth in the conference at 3.76 kills per game.  He was also ranked fourth in the MIVA in points per game at 4.51.  Macias was also ranked in aces per game (3rd) at 0.45 and digs per game (17th) at 1.50.

Macias has been named to the All-MIVA first team for the third consecutive year at IPFW.  He was named an All-MIVA second team selection at the University of Findlay his freshman season.

This is Jason Yhost's first All-MIVA First Team nod.  Yhost, who transferred to IPFW last season from San Diego Mesa College, finished the season eighth in the conference in kills per game with 3.60.  He was fifth in aces per game (0.40), seventh in point per game (4.36), 11th in hitting percentage (.304), and 15th in digs per game (1.53).

Senior middle Josh Stewart has been named All-MIVA Second Team for the second consecutive year.  "Big Red" was third in the conference in hitting percentage (.442) and eighth in blocks per game (1.11).

Ohio State Head Coach Pete Hanson was named MIVA Coach of the Year.  The Buckeyes Daniel Mathews was tabbed Player of the Year, and Ball State's J.D. Gasparovic was named Freshman of the Year.

IPFW travels to Chicago to take on Loyola in the opening round of the MIVA playoffs on Friday night at 8:00 p.m.  The Mastodons will look to win their first match against the Ramblers this season.  Loyola won the two regular season matchups with IPFW by the scores of 3-2 and 3-0.
