2007 Season: Mickelson had an impressive freshman campaign, leading the Mastodons in batting average (.300), slugging percentage (.444), hits (27), RBI (14), doubles (8), triples (1), and home runs (1). She was second on the team with 12 runs scored. Tara rounded out the year by being named IPFW Softball's Most Valuable Player of the Year.

Prep: Mickelson received three academic letters and was a Scholar Athlete while at Wheatridge. She also served as an officer for National Honor Society. On the field, Mickelson was a two-time honorable mention All-Jeffco conference team member and two time All-Jeffco team member. She was a member of the 5A All-State team and All-Colorado team. She received four letters while at Wheatridge.

Personal: Born June 1, 1988. Mickelson is the daughter of Will and Nancy Mickelson and has one brother, Derrick and one sister, Miranda. Mickelson is majoring in Business Accounting.
