Prep: Swanson attended Riley High School in South Bend. She played softball and volleyball for the Wildcats. As a shortstop she was named to the All-Metro Softball Team and was Riley's Most Valuable Player in 2007.

Personal: Sarah is the daughter of Bill and Katie Swanson. She has two sisters, Jenny and Maggie. Swanson intends on majoring in Nursing at IPFW.
