'Dons Defeat Indiana Tech in Fall Ball Opener



Reliever Kayla Powell gave up just 3 hits and 1 run in six innings of work for the 'Dons.

Fort Wayne, IN- In fall ball action, IPFW softball defeated the Indiana Tech Warriors 8-3, 8-2 in a doubleheader. 

 

In the opener, IPFW pitcher Amanda Olender gave up 6 hits and 3 runs in five innings of play.  Reliever Kayla Powell came in to close out the game giving up just one hit and securing the `Dons 8-3 victory.  IPFW had 8 hits in the game.

 

In game two action, Rachel Staschuk went three innings in the circle striking out 8 while giving up 4 hits and 1 run.  Powell came in for the final four giving up 2 hits and 1 run.  The `Dons struck the ball well with 12 hits of their own.


Softball will take on the Lady Trojans of Taylor University on September 15.  The first pitch will be thrown out at noon.
