2008 All-Summit League Softball Teams

Elmhurst, IL - IPFW sophomore Tara Mickelson has been named to the Summit League First Team, announced at the league's pre-tournament banquet on Thursday evening.

Mickelson, a native of Wheatridge, Colorado, led the Mastodons in batting average (.357), hits (40), total bases (66), slugging percentage (.589), and on-base percentage (.438), while tying for the team lead in triples (2) and home runs (6). Her home run total, and her seven intentional walks are new IPFW school records, as she is tied in the home run category with teammate Abby Liden.

Mickelson was named as an outfielder, and is joined by Southern Utah's Rodeo Carli and South Dakota State's Brittany Postma on the first-team outfield.

IPFW is 16-22 this year, including an 8-8 record in Summit League Play.

The `Dons take to the field on Friday, May 9, when they face off against Southern Utah University in the Summit League Tournament, hosted in Cedar City, Utah.
