Bowling Green, OH-The women's track team headed to Bowling Green over the weekend compete against Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Ball State, and Cincinnati. Although the 'Dons placed fifth as a team, they showed vast improvement over last weeks' marks. According to IPFW Head Coach Mike Fruchey, "There were many improved performances over last week. Brooke Newman showed the greatest improvement by pole vaulting 10'6" and placing fifth." "The team is very excited as they continue to put up top-ten marks on the Summit League Indoor Track Performance Litsts," added Coach Fruchey. Leading IPFW were distance standouts Crystal and Crystina Martinez who finished second and third, respectively, in the 3,000m run. Crystal finished at 10:23.06, while Crystina crossed the finish line at 10:26.87. IPFW will return to Bowling Green on January 25, 2008 to compete in the Tom Wright Classic.
