Summit League Release 
Elmhurst, IL-IPFW Track and Field star Crystina Martinez was named the Summit League Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week after posting an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Saturday.
Martinez won the race with a time of 10:47.29, an IPFW record and currently tops in the Summit League. She also holds the Summit League's top performances in the 5,000m run and the 10,000m run.
Qualifying for the NCAA Regional makes Crystina eligible to participate in the NCAA Mid-East Regional Track and Field Meet at the University of Arkansas on May 30-31, 2008.
This is Crystina's first weekly honor for track, although she was previously named the Summit League Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on September 25, 2007.
Martinez and the 'Dons will return to action this weekend, competing in the Miami Invitational in Oxford, OH.
