Staus capped off a successful high school campaign being named the LaSalle-Peru NewsTribune Volleyball Player of the Year for 2007. Staus leads LaSalle-Peru last season in blocks with 194 and is second in kills with 357. She was also a force in the back row with 124 digs her senior season. For her career, she had 770 kills and 394 total blocks. Staus was the first player at LaSalle-Peru to have a `triple double' in kills, blocks and points. She was a unanimous All-NCIC (North Central Illinois Conference) Reagan Division First Team in 2006 and 2007. Staus was the team MVP in 2006 and 2007, Peoria Journal Star Honorable Mention All-Area and Champaign Gazette Honorable Mention All-State in 2007. Staus excelled in the classroom as well, she was on the honor roll and a member of the High Scholarship Legion.

Personal

Born December 27, 1988. Staus is the daughter of Duane and Sue Staus and has one sister, Taylor. Staus plans on majoring in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Social Science while at IPFW.
