Odipo attended prep school at Mary Mother of God in Molo, Kenya before moving to the United States in 2005.

Sussy, the daughter of Tom Menya and Lucy Hanja, is earning a degree in Biology. She has two brothers who remain in Kenya, Pete and Brian.
