Porter, a two-sport athlete, was named team MVP of the cross country team and the track team for four consecutive years. She graduated with a golden tassel, signifying a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Ashley, the daughter of Bonnie and Robert Allen Porter, is earning a degree in Interior Design. She has three siblings, Greg, Gwen, and Rosie. She also has a sister-in-law Sharla and a brother-in-law John.
